The Board:

Chuck Bergson

Chuck currently serves as Director, President and CEO of Pacific Media Group, Inc. (PMG) and has done so since March of 1990. Bergson also serves as Director and President of Island Airwaves, Inc. Island Airwaves' principal business is the development of communications sites commonly known as "antenna farms," where telecommunications companies lease space to hang their antennas and house their transmitting equipment. Island Airwaves sold its towers to Global Tower Partners in 2013. I.A. owns several commercial buildings in Hawaii and California. In 2003, Bergson was a founding partner in Maui Sky Fiber, a high-speed wireless network. Bergson was in charge of site acquisition and network development. Maui Sky Fiber was sold in 2006 to Clearwire.

Chuck began his career in broadcasting with The American Broadcasting Company (ABC-TV), New York, NY. in 1983 as an Associate Account Executive in Affiliate Relations. In 1985 he accepted a position as an Account Executive with Retlaw Broadcasting, KMST-TV, a CBS affiliate, in Monterey, California. In 1987, he was awarded the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB) "Entrepreneur" of the Year Award. He was promoted to Sales Manager, where he remained until his move to Maui in March of 1990.

Chuck, an active member of the Maui Community, currently serves as a Founder of Maui Preparatory Academy, Board Member for the Hawaii Association of Broadcasters and as an advisor to numerous other community groups.

Jack Dugan

Jack currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, Director of Hawaii Airport Advertising, and Director of Digital Products for Pacific Media Group. After being raised in Upcountry Maui, Jack left for college in California. Jack began his career with Media News Group, working with several newspapers in Northern California. He promptly left "corporate life" to pursue a path of entrepreneurship, and over the course of several years, he launched and subsequently sold a handful of regional publications, mobile apps, and other media and technology-related products. Jack has been involved in a handful of start-up companies and consulting projects that range from digital media to aerospace.

ThirtyFive LLC, Dugan's current software development and consulting company, serves a handful of National customers across the USA and is responsible for the development of several technologies and systems currently active with Pacific Media Group. Jack recently celebrated his 21st marriage anniversary and is a proud parent of two daughters (Kaya and Lily). He enjoys surfing, spearfishing, hiking, snowboarding, and other outdoor activities. Jack is a passionate supporter of several Hawaii community programs and is an active volunteer with multiple Maui youth programs.

Lee Imada

Lee spent the majority of his life, 39 years, bringing the news to the residents of Maui County through The Maui News. Lee has been involved in the reporting, editing and presentation of Maui County biggest events - some of which are now history, such as the handing over of Kaho`olawe to the state and Native Hawaiians, Aloha Flight 243 and the fire that nearly burned down Lahaina.

Mr. Imada has known all mayors since Elmer Cravalho and met most of the governors since John Burns. He has interviewed astronauts, poets, national leaders and his favorite, the son of the founder of Star Trek.

During nearly four decades at The Maui News, his bosses gave me the opportunity to work in all facets of news production, as a reporter, photographer, page designer and copy editor. After managing desk operations for 15 years, Lee became the Managing Editor in 2012, the top position in the Newsroom. In that role, his job included handing out story assignments, editing, reporting, page design, dealing with management.

In November 2020, Lee took a buyout and left the paper. He has since been employed as the Executive Assistant to CEO Debbie Cabebe at Maui Economic Opportunity, one of the largest nonprofits on the island.

Born and raised on Maui, Lee graduated from Maui High and earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Early in his career, Lee took a 10 month sabbatical to learn the culture and language of Japan, the country of my grandmother. Lee notes “I learned that I had an aunt who survived the atomic bombing and in 1987 received a Hibakusha Travel Grant from the Hiroshima Cultural Foundation to interview survivors of the atomic bombing - including my Aunty Yukie. Keeping the stories of the survivors of the atomic bombings has become a life’s mission.”

Lee’s feature writing and collaborations on news stories have won multiple Society of Professional Journalists Hawaii and Hawaii Publisher’s Association awards. Mr. Imada’s community service work includes serving on the Hawaii Pubic Radio Community Board.

Anthony Takitani

Mr. Takitani is an attorney and partner of the law firm Takitani, Agaran, Jorgensen and Wildman LLP, a firm specializing in real estate, commercial and personal injury law in Maui.

Mr. Takitani also served two terms as a legislator in the State of Hawaii House of Representatives.

Mr. Takitani is very involved in the Maui community, having served on numerous non-profit boards for organizations such as the Maui Arts & Cultural Center as well as the Board of Directors for Maui Health Systems.

Mr. Takitani holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and received a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. Mr. Takitani’s extensive legal background, experience as a legislator, and involvement in the Maui community make him a valuable asset on the Board.
